EUROPE (CelebrityAccess) Peter van der Veer has resigned as CEO of the European Arenas Association and the Ahoy Rotterdam facility.

Van der Veer was elected CEO of the EAA in April, replacing Brian Kabatznick of AEG Europe. He was also joint CEO of Ahoy Rotterdam, which includes the 15,000-capacity Ahoy Arena.

Van der Veer co-owned and ran the facility with Jolanda Jansen, who told IQ that van der Veer’s resignation “came as a surprise” to the venue’s staff of 250 but was motivated by “some differences of opinion” with management.

The EAA, which reps 36 arenas across 22 countries, said in a statement to IQ that it will elect a new CEO later this year.

“Peter van der Veer has resigned his position as president of the EAA,” the statement said. “The group will elect a new president at their next meeting in Kaunas, Lithuania, in April. Until then the EAA board members are maintaining direction of the association.
