LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — The members of Queen announced that they will be performing at the Academy Awards on Sunday night.
The band, which features original guitarist and drummer — Brian May and Roger Taylor – with former American Idol winner Adam Lambert on vocals in place of the late Freddie Mercury, announced via Twitter that they are lined up to perform at the awards ceremony.
For those of you who have been living under a rock, Queen was the subject of Bohemian Rhapsody, which despite tepid reviews, became the most successful biopic in movie history, earning an eye-popping $212.2 million in North America and $854 million worldwide.
The film has been nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Rami Malek, who was cast in the role of Freddie Mercury. The film also picked up a nod for the prestigious Best Drama Motion Picture.
The Oscars are set to take place on Sunday night from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
