AUCKLAND, New Zealand (CelebrityAccess) Fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers who paid for VIP treatment at the band’s show at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, are reportedly furious about being sent to the side areas of the floor when they were promised a front-and-center experience.

The Daily Mail claims that concertgoers were “shocked” after staff ushered them to far stage left, after paying $450 for a ticket, barricaded off from the superior placement of the GA pit. However, the Mail story appears to be based on the experience of one patron, Kelly Whitham, who posted a withering review on her Facebook page:

That doesn’t necessarily mean her complaint doesn’t hold merit.

“You cordoned off the VIP area but not only that your shoved us in the fricken corner and gave front and center to people that paid $300 less a ticket!” Whitham wrote. “LITERALLY every person on our side wasnt happy. We paid for VIP. We paid for the front of stage like your map said and we were shoved to the sides and treated like naughty little children in the corner.”

“‘We were so far pushed over we stood in front of the spotlights all night, our view was obstructed and only a couple of times did anybody from the band come over that far,'” Whitman told Daily Mail Australia. “I think the only people truly happy were the ones at the front.”

She added that she had purchased a $40 Live Nation goodie bag to collect on the day but staff was unaware of any such handout.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Live Nation for comment.
