LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — For the second week in a row, Warner Bros. take on the classic DC Comics hero Shazam topped the box office, earning an estimated $25.140 million from North American theaters, according to estimates compiled by comScore.

The weekend’s results bring Shazam’s two-week North American cume to $94m and worldwide, the film has earned a respectable $258m, according to comScore’s estimates.

Shazam tells the story of a 14-year-old (Angel Asher) who, after meeting an ancient wizard, can transform himself into an adult superhero (played by Zachary Levi.) Shazam also features Mark Strong, Djimon Hounsou, Adam Brody, D.J. Cotrona, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ross Butler, Ron Cephas Jones, Cooper Andrews, Ian Chen and is directed by David F. Sandberg.

In other comic book movie news, Lionsgate’s Hellboy opened this weekend to a disappointing $12.015 million from 3,303 North American theaters. The franchise reboot didn’t see the return of director Guillermo del Toro, nor lead actor Ron Perlman, who declined to reprise Hellboy without Del Toro’s involvement.

Also new this week was Universal’s comedy Little which debuted to $15.5m. Little retreads the body-switch trope with a cut-throat tech mogul (Regina Hall) finding herself as a 13-year-old version of herself, played by Marsai Martin.

Disney’s Dumbo earned an estimated $9.186 million for its third weekend in North American theaters and $22m in international markets, bringing its three-week global cume to $266.9 million, per comScore.
