LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – 22-year-old singer Kodi Lee captivated America’s Got Talent judges and audience members during a recent performance that has since gone viral.

Lee, who is blind and autistic, performed a stirring piano rendition of “A Song for You” by Donny Hathaway, which received both a Golden Buzzer from judge Gabrielle Union signifying that he will advance to the live shows, and a standing ovation from all those in attendance.

“What just happened there was extraordinary,” said judge Simon Cowell following the performance. “I’m going to remember this moment for the rest of my life.”

Lee’s mother, Tina, told the show’s judges that her son loved music “really early on.”

“He listened and his eyes just went huge and he started singing,” she said. “I realized he’s an entertainer. Through music and performing, he was able to withstand living in this world because when you’re autistic, it’s really hard to do what everybody else does.

“It actually saved his life playing music.”
