PORTLAND, Or (CelebrityAccess) — Police in Oregon have identified a body discovered in April as Dennis Day, an original Mouseketeer on “The Mickey Mouse Club.”

“On June 6, 2019, the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s office identified the body found in the residence listed in previous release by investigation, evidence, and other information as that of missing person, Dennis Day. Despite their efforts, investigators were unable to utilize dental records or DNA due to the condition of the remains,” a statement from the Oregon State Police said.

The body, found on April 4th at a home Day shared with his husband Ernie Caswell, was too decomposed to be immediately identified.

According to NBC, Day, who was 76, was reported missing by his sister in July, as well as by Caswell, who was hospitalized at the time.

No cause of death was reported. The family said it would have no further comment.

Day was an original member of the Mouseketeers and was featured in Disney promotional material at the time and had already started on a career in acting when he landed the part.

Day also took the extraordinary step of revealing that he was gay in the early 1970s, and with Caswell, operated a home for gay actors in San Francisco. They married in 2009.
