NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess) — Following an arrest for driving under the influence last week, country artist Sam Hunt is no longer on the lineup for the NASCAR Awards next month.
On Monday, NASCAR announced that “Good Vibes” singer Chris Janson will now be performing at the event.
“I’m thrilled to be bringing my music to the NASCAR celebration in Nashville,” Janson said. “We love NASCAR, the drivers and the fans! It’s going to be a good time!”
The awards take place on December 5th at Music City Center in Nashville with Cassadee Pope serving as co-host alongside NASCAR on NBC’s Rutledge Wood.
Hunt was arrested last week after he was stopped while allegedly driving the wrong way on a road in Nashville. He was allegedly found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.173, well over the legal limit of 0.08.
On Friday, Hunt took to social media to apologize for the incident, noting, “It was a poor and selfish decision. And I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again.”
