LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Edward Aschoff, an award-winning college football reporter for ESPN, passed away on Tuesday, following a brief illness. He was 34.

“We are very sorry to have to share the devastating news of the tragic passing of friend and ESPN colleague Edward Aschoff,” ESPN said in a statement. “He died earlier today, his 34th birthday. Our thoughts are with his loved ones, including his fiancée, Katy.”

Earlier this month, Aschoff tweeted that he had contracted multifocal (bilateral) pneumonia.

A native of Oxford, Mississippi, and a 2008 graduate of the University of Florida, Aschoff previously covered recruiting and Florida football for The Gainesville Sun.

According to ESPN, he began his career with the network in Atlanta back in 2011 before moving to Los Angeles in 2017 to begin a more expanded national role that included television coverage.
