NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — New York’s City Parks Foundation is teaming up with financial services company Capital One and the AARP to expand SummerStage Anywhere’s livestreamed concert series with four weeks of new performances.

The expanded SummerStage Anywhere series sponsored by AARP will feature a brand new exclusive 60-minute performances for the next four Thursdays, starting at 5PM EST.

Artists confirmed to date include:

October 15: The Cover Girls, a New York City based all female freestyle group
October 22: TKA, a Latin freestyle trio
October 29: salsa performance, TBA
November 12:TBA

In addition to performing, the artists will all participate in a live chat with fans on the AARP Facebook Page during the premiere broadcasts.

“SummerStage has become an important New York tradition. As a longtime sponsor of community events, educational programs and concerts, we wanted to do something special for music fans of all ages during this time,” said AARP New York State Director Beth Finkel. “We know that listening to music enriches people’s lives. A recent AARP survey of more than 3,100 adults who engage in music rated their quality of life and happiness as excellent and good, with lower average levels of anxiety and depression.”

SummerStage Anywhere launched in June in response to COVID-19 to provide unique, free digital performances at home to SummerStage audiences.

Past performance highlights include a Juneteenth Day of Dance, Indie rock singer/songwriter Patrick Watson, Latin Hip Hop star Mala Rodriguez, Haitian DJ Michael Brun, British-Barbadian jazz saxophonist, clarinetist and band leader Shabaka Hutchings, Brazilian pop stars Pabllo Vittar and Duda Beat, Grammy Award-winning Beninese singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo, Afro-French Cuban musical duo Ibeyi, Hip Hop icons Fab 5 Freddy and A$AP Ferg and many more. All SummerStage Anywhere programming is archived and available for streaming on SummerStage’s YouTube channel.
