9:30 Launches Label With Justin Jones

WASHINGTON, DC (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — “If It Ain’t Broke, Break It!”

That’s the mantra for the newly launched 9:30 Records.  Now in its 30th year, the 9:30 Club is creating a record label for the first time, spurred by the work of one artist, Justin Jones.

The first record to come out on 9:30 Records will be Justin Jones’ “The Little Fox EP.” To celebrate the launch of the record and the label, the 9:30 Club will host an exclusive Open House Party on Thursday, September 16th. The invitation-only evening will include a special performance by Justin Jones, and attendees will have the chance to purchase “The Little Fox EP” and meet the artist after the show.

“You can imagine I’ve been exposed to more music than most, but once in a very blue moon, a new artist stops me dead in my tracks,” said Seth Hurwitz, chairman of I.M.P. and co-owner of the 9:30 Club.

“We decided to record something that sounds like us live. We went to our buddy’s basement, set up and in two days laid down the songs that would become The Little Fox EP.  To have the 9:30 Club start a label just because of us, well, that’s pretty astounding. To have people like Seth Hurwitz believe in you and back you, I couldn’t feel luckier.”

The record is being distributed by Thirty Tigers out of Nashville and will be available digitally and in stores on September 14, 2010. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
