LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG Live Exhibitions and The Northern Trust Corporation will be the national sponsors of the upcoming “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” national museum tour. The tour, which will debut at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art June 16, 2005, marks the first time the treasures of King Tut have visited America in 26 years.
“We are proud to bring the treasures of King Tut and the Valley of the Kings back to the United States after such a long absence,” said William A. Osborn, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Northern Trust Corporation. “Since our founding in 1889, Northern Trust has advanced a culture of caring and investing in the communities we serve. We are pleased to share this unique cultural and educational experience with the thousands of people who will visit the exhibit as it debuts in Los Angeles and as it travels to Fort Lauderdale and Chicago.”
The official announcement of Northern Trust’s sponsorship is being made by Sherry S. Barrat, Chairman and CEO, Northern Trust’s-Western Region, at LACMA in conjunction with the first day tickets are made available for public sale. This announcement coincides with Northern Trust’s purchase of the first 100 tickets at the museum’s box office/TicketMaster outlet for the exhibition’s opening day. Northern Trust is donating the tickets to students on-hand from the nearby Hancock Park Elementary School. Said Barrat “We appreciate this opportunity to continue our support of LACMA. As part of our ongoing commitment to Los Angeles, we are proud to partner with LACMA to bring these treasures to the community.”
“On behalf of Arts and Exhibitions International and AEG LIVE Exhibitions, we are pleased to be joined by our new partners at the Northern Trust Corporation as presenters of this exciting, important and historic tour of the incredible artifacts from King Tut and ancient Egypt,” said Timothy J. Leiweke, President and CEO, AEG. “Northern Trust’s overall corporate philosophy and strong commitment to giving back to the communities where we live and work make them ideal partners and will clearly help to provide the opportunity for the millions of guests who will now be able to experience this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition.” –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
