(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Amphitheater at Clark County has given more than $68,000 to the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, which will then divide the money up amongst different charities.
The venue, which promised to donate fifty cents of every ticket sold, is on track to meet its goal of donating $500,000 over the next ten years. The money is being reserved to help fund music appreciation and education for young people.
Director of Finance, Human Resources and Administration for the amphitheater Jill Callies told the Oregonian, “I don't want to say we are not open to anything, but we are trying to focus on youth. And the funds, I think, are needed probably more in the schools. I am hoping that the schools jump on it and let us know what their needs are.”
The organization will continue to accept grant applications until the end of the year and expect to distribute the money by March at the latest. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
