LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Indie rock superstars Arctic Monkeys are testing an enterprising ticketing initiative for their highly anticipated U.K. summer tour.
Tickets for all upcoming U.K. dates will be distributed with a lottery system to fans who have pre-registered their interest online. Successful applicants will be randomly selected by a computer and sent a personal password to use when purchasing a ticket.
A statement on the Arctic Monkeys’ website said the system allows “everyone to have the best and equal chance” to get tickets for the tour, which begins April 9th at the Guildhall in Southampton and concludes April 22nd at the Leadmill in the band’s hometown of Sheffield.
A spokesman for the band explained that the unusual steps were taken to give the band’s core fanbase the best chance to get the highly popular band’s tickets.
