Aria Presents Chart Awards


SYDNEY, Australia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Australia Recording Industry Association, or Aria recognized eleven Australian artists for their chart success at the seventh annual ARIA #1 Chart Awards.

The awards, held at the Doltone House in Sydney on May 13th, was hosted by MTV VJ's Maz Compton and Darren McMullen, and featured keynote speeches from the chairman of the ARIA Chart & Marketing Committee, Mr John Parker, and Chairman of ARIA, Mr Ed St John, along with live performances from Wes Carr, Jessica Mauboy, Gyroscope, Sneaky Sound System and up and coming Melbourne duo, Dash & Will.

To be eligible for the award, an artist must have scored a #1 single album or music DVD for the period between January 1 2008 – April 30 2009.

AC/DC for their album " Black Ice"
Natalie Bassingthwaighte for her album "1000 Stars"
AC/DC for their music DVD "No Bull Live: Plaza De Toros"
