Bobby Curtola's Wife Killed In Crash


MAITLAND, N.S. (CelebrityAccess) — Karyn Rochford, the wife of 1960s Canadian pop start Bobby Curtola, was killed on Wednesday in a motor vehicle accident near Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. She was 73.

The news of Rochford's death was confirmed in a post on Curtola's Facebook page.

"The statement at this time is Karyn is the love of his life and their families would appreciate that you respect their privacy and will make further announcements after the funeral," the post said.

According to CBC News, Rochford was involved in a head-on accident and was pronounced dead a the scene. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police told the CBC that bad weather was likely a factor in the crash.

Curtola was wrapping up his Christmas tour at the time of the crash, with his final show scheduled for Saturday at the Showplace in Peterborough, Ontario. He is best known as a hitmaker in the 1960s, recording charting songs such as "Indian Giver", "Hand in Hand with You" and his biggest hit, "Fortune Teller." – Staff Writers
