INDIO, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Coachella, one of the largest and most successful annual music festivals in the US will increase its run from two to three days.
Additionally, they will also be starting an entirely new festival at the Empire Polo Field site in Indio California on the following weekend. The new festival will focus on country musicians and this year, it will feature performances by Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Emmylou Harris & Lucinda Williams. The music will be spread across four stages and a "story telling area."
"This is the first year, and I think this is something that's going to be around for a long time and grow into something really special." event organizer Louis Messina said.
The festival started in 2001 and has since grown to become one of the most anticipated events in the US festival scene. Held in the Mojave desert, the festival typically covers five stages/tents and features a wide variety of music and art installations.
