Comcast-Specator To Acquire Paciolan

PHILADELPHIA, PA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — In the wake of the Live Nation/Ticketmaster merger, Comcast-Spectacor has signed a letter of intent stating that they plan to buy Paciolan from Ticketmaster.

The U.S. Department of Justice stipulated that Ticketmaster divest the ticketing services company within 60 days to Comcast or another buyer as a part of the concessions extracted from the two firms to approve the merger plan.

According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, the deal would include Paciolans' ticketing software and related technology as well as 200 accounts with venues Paciolan provides ticketing services to. Comcast-Spectacor already holds 50 accounts with Paciolan through its New Era Tickets subsidiary, which shifted more than 10 million tickets last year.

Comcast-Spectacor, a subsidiary of telecom giant Comcast, is a major player in the arena management world and through their subsidiary Global Spectrum, they manage venues around the world including: The Wachovia Center, The John Labatt Centre and the Sun National Bank Center among numerous others. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
