LOS ANGELES (Hypebot) – Last week Disney warned the U.S. Trademark Office that it may challenge a trademark filed by Joel Zimmerman, better known as EDM star Deadmau5 (pronounced dead mouse). Zimmerman's Ronica Holdings Limited is hoping to trademark a black and white graphic of a mouse that Disney is concerned could infringe upon its iconic Mickey Mouse trademark.
DeadMau5, who performs with his head covered by a giant mouse head, has filed a registration would include entertainment services, electrical and scientific apparatus, BMX bikes, paper goods, leather goods, toys and sporting goods and foods and beverages, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Disney has asked for 90 days to respond.
