Elton John To Celebrate 60th Birthday At 60th MSG Concert

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Elton John will celebrate his 60th birthday on March 25th performing at Madison Square Garden. The Live Nation promotion will be a one-time musical event that will also mark his 60th concert at the legendary venue, breaking his own house record.

"Elton is a legend in the entertainment world and we are honored that he has decided to add to his current record, as the artist that has performed the most number of times in the Garden's history," said James L. Dolan, chairman of Madison Square Garden and president and chief executive officer of Cablevision Systems Corporation. "I am sure that his upcoming 60th performance at Madison Square Garden, celebrating his 60th birthday, will be another unforgettable moment in the World's Most Famous Arena."

John will be performing with his long-time band: Davey Johnstone on guitar; Guy Babylon on keyboards; Bob Birch on bass guitar; John Mahon on percussion; and Nigel Olsson on drums. For a select number of songs, John will be joined onstage by a full choir. This momentous and record-breaking occasion will be shot in HD with exclusive content being made available worldwide for television broadcast, broadband, and mobile distribution.
