Fishof's Third Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp Set for June 18-22

The third Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp will convene in New York City June 18-22 culminating with a "Battle of the Bands" at The Bottom Line on June 22. Camp creator and rock producer David Fishof brings the third camp to his hometown with campers coming as far away as Japan to jam and learn one-on-one from guest artists like Roger Daltrey, Bad Company's Simon Kirke, The Band's Levon Helm, Grand Funk Railroad's Mark Farner, Leslie West from Mountain, Ace Frehely from Kiss, Deep Purple's Joe Lynn Turner; Foghat's Rod Price and Marky Ramone from the Ramones. Surprise drop-ins are also expected.

While these are some of the most legendary names in rock and roll, the real stars of the camp are the campers. Attending this year will bae a father and daughter team; two female drummers – one coming all the way from Japan and the other an author and psychologist; a surgeon from Long Island and a stockbroker from Pennsylvania.

Upon arrival, the campers will audition in front of a panel of rock star counselors (Night Ranger's Jack Blades; Mark Rivera and Liberty DeVitto from Billy Joel; Bobby Mayo of Peter Frampton; and Derek St. Holmes of Ted Nugent). The panel will determine into which band each camper will be placed according to individual experience. Each band will be headed-up by a rock counselor.

Then it's down to serious work: Thursday through Sunday campers will be rehearsing and playing all day everyday, with meal breaks during which guest artists will drop by. Campers will have the opportunity to rehearse with the artists who will offer their expertise. They'll be jamming with Joe Lynn Turner on Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water," Marky Ramone on The Ramones' "Rockaway Beach," and Simon Kirke on Bad Company's "All Right Now" and "Rock and Roll Fantasy," as well as writing their own original songs.

The camp will culminate on June 22 at New York's Bottom Line. Roger Daltrey will host the celebrity jam and "Battle of the Bands" where campers will be rockin out on the same stage alongside their counselors. The night will benefit Daltrey's "Teenage Cancer Trust" organization.
