SOMERSET, UK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) Once again, Glastonbury, the premier UK summer music festival has sold out, with fans snapping up the final allotment of tickets in just under two hours.
The final allotment of tickets consisted of unsold or unwanted passes left over from the first round of ticket sales.
Festival organizers used Twitter to keep tickets up to date during the sale, tweeting that demand was "incredibly high" and offering, "Apologies to those of you who didn't get a ticket,” they wrote. “Demand hugely outstripped supply, so unfortunately some people had to miss out."
The festival, the last Glastonbury until at least 2013, is set for June 24-26 in Somerset. This year's fest features a list of headliners that includes Beyonce, Coldplay and U2, who were forced to miss their billet at Glastonbury 2010 when Bono fell seriously ill.
Glastonbury will be taking the next year off, to avoid competing with the 2012 Olympics, which are set to take place in London. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
