LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Four performances over the weekend of June 25-26, of 'Glee Live!', the concert tour performed by the cast members of the hit TV show, created a new record for "the number of people to see a show at The O2 over a weekend."
The opening four shows, of a seven show sell-out residency, saw the Glee Live! cast perform to more than 66,000 'Gleeks' over the two days.
Bosses at The O2 commissioned a special commemorative award which was presented to the cast of Glee Live! before their final performance on Thursday evening.
Sally Davies, The O2, Events Director, said in a statement, “We couldn’t let this record go un-rewarded so we were delighted to be able to present the cast with the special award. Glee Live! has been one of the most successful acts ever to play The O2. To say the show is ‘feel good’ just doesn’t come close. The feedback we’ve been getting on The O2 Facebook and Twitter pages has been incredible. It looks like most of the 66,000 Gleeks had the time of their lives. What we now want to know is when is Glee Live! coming back?!”
