REYKJAVIK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The initial artist lineup has been announced for this year's installment of the popular Iceland Airwaves Festival. Held in a number of venues around the city of Reykjavík on October 17 – 21, this year will mark the ninth installment of the music bash and this year, organizers seem on track to surpass expectations.
Among the 170+ artists scheduled to appear will be UK rising stars Bloc Party, the Elephant Six Collective from Montreal, !!! (chk, chk, chk), Canadian Rapper Buck 65, Sweden's Jenny Wilson and US duo Best Fwend who were forced to cancel their appearance for last year.
Local acts scheduled to appear include GusGus, Technóbandið Stefán, Mugison and electronic act múm.
