'It's Done. Stick A Fork In It' – Jambalaya's Lakeside Shuts Its Doors

LAINGSBURG, MI (CelebrityAccess News Service) – Less than a year after changing ownership, Jambalaya's Lakeside has closed for good.

As reported by the Lansing State Journal, executive chef and co-owner Carl Davis said “factors weighing into the decision included $40,000 in debts inherited from the previous owner, increased competition from restaurants in the Eastwood Towne Center, and the upcoming three worst months for the restaurant business.”

When one goes to their website it reads, in large capitol letters:
CLOSED!!!

THERE IS NO PROSPECTIVE DATE OF RE-OPENING.
ALL CONCERTS, MUSIC SCHEDULES, AND EVENTS HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED.

APPROPRIATE PERSONS OR COMPANIES WILL BE CONTACTED THIS WEEK BY OWNERSHIP OR MANAGEMENT

"It's done. Stick a fork in it," said Davis, who took over the restaurant in April with chef Patrick Shaffer and general manager Greg Dempster.

The restaurant, located at 5942 E. Round Lake Road, was known for Creole cuisine and live entertainment, and had been open since June 1997.

"We are not closing up because the business didn't have loyal customers," Davis said. "But we decided to get out while the getting was good." –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
