WASHINGTON D.C. (CelebrityAccess) — Comedian Jerry Seinfeld had an awkward moment with Kesha when he denied her repeated requests for a hug in front of a live camera.
Both Seinfeld and Kesha were at at the red carpet for the "Night of Laughter & Song" event at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., when Kesha approached Seinfeld, stating that she "loved him" and asked for a hug.
Seinfeld, who was in the midst of an interview, seemed taken by surprise at the sudden affection and waved Kesha repeated requests off, saying he'd rather not.
After Kesha backed off, Seinfeld made it clear he didn't know who she was and when the interviewer informed him that it was Kesha, Seinfeld laughed and said, "Oh OK. Well, I wish her the best!"
The moment, captured on video, became a popular viral clip via social media. Following the on-camera snub, Seinfeld took pains to make it clear that he didn't intend to be rude.
