Knack Frontman Doug Fieger Faces Tough Battle With Cancer

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Knack Frontman Doug Fieger, singer of the band's hit "My Sharona" is battling lung and brain cancer and may be running out of time, the Detroit News reported.

"Everybody is in the same spot," Fieger told the Detroit News. "I just know there is something that will potentially end my time here."

Fieger is no stranger to this battlefield and had a portion of his lung removed in 2004 and then brain surgery to remove tumors in 2006, however the cancer has returned in at least 22 places in his brain.

Fieger has already undergone three craniotomies and several rounds of whole-brain radiation and is reportedly declining any further treatment but he remains hopeful.

"My grandmother from Brooklyn used to come visit my family in Oak Park for the summer." Fieger told the Detroit Press. He went on to note that she was diagnosed with cancer and given 3 months, a best to live. "She lived 21 more years and didn't die of cancer. So you can never tell,." Fieger added. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
