NASHVILLE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Collin Raye’s management team, Ken Krager and Pat Melfi, have formed Starpointe Records as a vehicle to release Raye’s newest single, “A Soldier’s Prayer.”
Kragen and Melfi were in the final stages of negotiating a deal with a small independent label when Raye’s single started attracting significant attention on country radio. The negotiations fell apart just as the song was gaining momentum, sparking the label idea between Kragen and Melfi.
“We were driven by the music and the moment,” said Kragen at a press conference in Nashville last week.
Net proceeds from the sales of the single will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity that provides supplies, benefits counseling, family assistance and adaptive sports programs to injured soldiers. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
