Leach Amphitheatre Vandals Caught On Camera

OSKOSH, WI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Vandals caused damage estimated in the thousands of dollars to the Leach Amphitheatre in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, last week, but police say the venue’s high tech security cameras may help catch the culprits.

The security system shows the vandals arrived just after 9pm on a Saturday night, and stayed for nearly an hour. The teens scratched their nicknames and some slogans on several doors, damaged an electrical box, and took turns slamming their skateboards into a metal overhead door, according to WBAY-2 news.

Aaron Chelberg, GM of the Leach Amphitheatre, is confident the cameras will lead to arrests for the case. “If we didn’t have that, it could happen again and that’s one of the things we want to deter.”

He told the station that steps are being taken to prevent any future incidents. “We’re looking at upgrading our security system by adding a few more cameras throughout the park.”

Detectives on the case plan to have police-school-liaison officers, who work directly in local schools, view the videos to help identify the vandals. Chelberg said he plans to press charges and seek full restitution for the incident. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
