Lilith Losing Dates

VANCOUVER (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Lilith's 2010 return as a touring festival might not be quite as comprehensive as the event's organizers initially hoped as reports are starting to trickle in about canceled dates on the festival's itinerary.

The touring all-female festival, which had returned this year for the first time since it's initial 3-year-run ended in 1999, had originally been scheduled for 35 dates around the U.S. but has been plagued by soft ticket sales.

On Thursday, festival producer Terry McBride announced that two dates had been cancelled. Thursday, July 8 in Arizona and Saturday, August 7th in Nashville. Another date in Austin on Aug. 14 is still listing as TBA on the festival's website and tickets are not yet available to purchase.

Three other Lilith dates have been moved to smaller venues, including Vancouver, Edmonton and Montreal, however McBride maintains that these dates were moved for reasons other than slow ticket sales.

Then, performer Norah Jones announced that all five of her scheduled Lilith dates have been cancelled.

"Norah was prepared to do all the Lilith dates she was contracted for and then those dates were cancelled," Jones' agent Sam Feldman told the Globe & Mail.

McBride refused on Thursday to confirm additional cancellations, telling the Globe & Mail: “We have cancelled nothing at this time. We review our sales on a weekly basis. If we cancel any more, we will announce accordingly."

The festival is set to kick off its season on June 27 in Calgary. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
