FT. LAUDERDALE, FL (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Promoter Live Nation is reportedly in discussions with the city of Fort Lauderdale over the prospects of bringing a new two-day spring festival to the city's beaches.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, Live Nation is angling for a three-year deal over the event which will be dubbed the "Florida Beach Festival." The show would bring top shelf artists to the area for the event which is being considered for Memorial Day weekend in 2009.
According to Live Nation official Mike Luba, the target price for a weekend pass would be 40-50 dollars, making it a fairly inexpensive outing as far as festivals go.
Until this just this year, Ft. Lauderdale had played home to the Air & Sea Show, staged in part by the US Military. The exhibition, also held in the Spring, would often draw millions of visitors to the seaside Florida city but was canceled late last year, with organizers citing rising fuel costs. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
