CORK, Ireland (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Live Nation is eyeing the Irish city of Cork as a possible home for a new major concert venue.
Live Nation Ireland CEO Mike Adams revealed to the Sunday Business Post that the company is in negotiations with developers about the 5,000 seat venue.
The Cork venue will be just one of the projects Live Nation has in the works for Ireland and they are currently working on a naming rights deal for the Grand Canal Theatre, a new 2,100 seat venue slated to open in Dublin next March.
Adamson also told the Sunday Business Journal that Live Nation would be "linking up" with local companies. Live Nation has been rumored to be in talks to purchase some, if not all of Irish promoter Denis Desmond's MCD.
A spokesman for Live Nation downplayed, but did not specifically deny these rumors, telling The Sunday Business Post: "We do not have a stake in MCD, although we do work closely with Denis Desmond in Ireland and the UK." – CelebrityAccess
