LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess MediaWire)A three-alarm fire broke out on Friday at the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino, sending plumes of black smoke aloft and shutting down the Strip.
First reported around 11:00 AM, the fire spread across the roof of the center section of the building as crowds gathered below to watch.
There have been no reports of injuries yet but the Strip has been closed to traffic and several adjacent casinos have been evacuated as well.
The Monte Carlo opened in 1996 and has more than 3,000 guest rooms. It was designed to recall the famous Place du Casino in Monte Carlo, Monaco and is co-owned by Mirage Resorts and Circus Circus Enterprises. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
