BASTROP, Texas (CelebrityAccess) — A former contract employee has been charged with allegedly stealing nearly $20,000 from promoter C3 Presents.
According to the American Statesman, Michael Wayne Simms, 46, of Bastrop is facing felony theft charges after he allegedly helped to facilitate an illegal transfer of money from a C3 Presents bank account to a different company.
The Statesman said Simms admitted to police that an unnamed individual approached him in 2015 and asked if he could facilitate the transfer of money into an account controlled by Simms' landscaping business. An affidavit states Simms agreed, transferring $19,687.50 into the account and then withdrawing it, keeping $2,500 for himself and turning the rest over to the individual.
If convicted, Simms could face up to two years in prison. – Staff Writers
