Michael Brecker Suffering From MDS, Cancels All Concerts


NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) —
Tenor saxophonist Michael Brecker has canceled all tour dates as well his featured spot in Steps Ahead, the group led by vibraphonist Mike Maineri.

Brecker is seriously and mysteriously ill with myelodyspastic syndrome (MDS), a blood disorder, and is receiving treatment. Saxophonist Bill Evans has replaced Brecker in Steps Ahead. –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
