MSL Plans Gridiron Bash

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — MSL Sports & Entertainment is working on an ambitious plan to throw "the largest single-day sports and entertainment event to take place on college campuses" as a part of their Gridiron Bash on April 18th.

The event will encompass about 20 universities, including Texas A&M, Kansas State University, University of Tennessee, Rutgers, University of Colorado, West Point, West Virginia University and Penn State. Each event will include a tailgate bash, a "huge" pep rally, an autograph session and a top performer in a live concert.

The list of performers who have been scheduled for the event include Maroon 5, Counting Crows, Fergie, The Goo Goo Dolls, Kelly Clarkson, ZZ Top and Dwight Yoakam with numerous other acts still TBA. Billboard has suggested that Good Charlotte, O.A.R. and Fall Out Boy may be on the shortlist.

"It's a natural way to bring in the music and bring in the fan," MSL S&E partner Shawn Garrity told Billboard.com. "Up and down across the board, we're thinking we'll get between 40,000 and 50,000 people per crowd."

Details are sparse, but Billboard also reports that MSL is looking into options for expanding their audience through an online offering, possibly streaming live performances on the 'net. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
