NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Ashley Newton has been picked by co-chairmen Steve Barnett and Rick Rubin to helm Columbia Records as the label's new president.
Newton is a seasoned record industry vet and formerly served in an A&R role at Island and at RCA. He also spent some time at Virgin Records UK, where he rose to become a co-managing director and eventually a co-president of Virgin Records America, Billboard reported
During his career, Newton worked with a diverse array of artists that included The Chemical Brothers, The Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Imogen Heap, Daughtry and Neneh Cherry, among others. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
