LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — After seven months of shutdown to allow for structural repair, Academy Music Group has re-opened the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
The 2,000-capacity venue had was closed in 2015 after a routine health and safety inspection before a concert discovered that a section of the venue's roof was in need of repair.
As well, the repair work outage was used to upgrade a number of other aspects of the venue, including changes to the sound system, updates to the interior design of the building and to apply a new coat of paint.
In an announcement about the venue's re-opening, a spokesperson said: “We appreciate and apologise that such delicate repair works at our Grade II listed building were regrettably delayed, however our ultimate objective and ambition has been achieved; to preserve our venue for the future and reaffirm its position as one of the country’s most historically important live entertainment theatres.”
Originally opened in 1903, the building has been listed as historically important by the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage. – Staff Writers
