It's been nearly four years since REM's last full-scale tour and the group is ready to play some live shows next year, says the band's official Web site. The tour will include European concerts in Summer 2003 and fall dates in North
America, which will be posted sometime after the first of the year, with the rest of world, likely in 2004.
"We have been locked up in the studio," Michael Stipe said from Vancouver, "and are anxious to see the outside again. So we will spend some of the next year on tour with other people who love
music." Says Peter Buck, "My kids have been asking me for the past couple of years, 'When do we get to go back on the tour bus?' So I am really excited about next summer and fall, especially that we will finally get to play Warsaw and return to Glastonbury." Bassist Mike Mills adds, "I have missed being on the road and can't wait to hit it again."
R.E.M. confirmed European dates:
June 27 ENG Glastonbury, Glastonbury Festival
June 29 BEL Werchter, Werchter Festival
