R.E.M.'s Buck To Stand Trial

Peter Buck, guitarist for REM, has been order to stand trial in London November 12 on charges relating to an alleged air rage incident. He is charged with being drunk on an airplane and with criminal damage, using threatening words and assaulting two British Airways employees.

The indictment against Buck said the incident occurred on a nonstop British Air-ways flight between Seattle and London in April. Buck was apparently on his way to the British capital to participate in a major concert there on South African Freedom Day.
