CLINTWOOD, VA (CelebrityAccess EventWire) — Clintwood is hosting a two day festival to celebrate the opening of the Ralph Stanley Museum & Traditional Mountain Music Center. The performances will be held in the Jettie Baker Center, a small, 350-seat theater across the street from the new museum.
Artists slated to play include the Abrams Brothers and Grammy winner Jim Lauderdale. Ralph Stanley, another Grammy winner and the person for whom the museum is named, will also be performing with his band the Clinch Mountain Boys.
Having two Grammy winners perform on the same stage is a big deal, especially for a town of under 2,000 people.
According to the Washington Times, the town’s mayor, Donald Baker is excited about the new museum and the festival. “We hope it’s going to provide a real economic boost,” he said. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
