Roskilde Cuts Sunday Music

ROSKILDE, DK (CelebrityAccess) — Organizers for the the popular Danish Roskilde Festival have announced a shakeup for the festival's schedule starting in 2015, when the festival will feature music from Wednesday to Saturday instead of Thursday to Sunday.

“We want to end on a high note, and Saturday is definitely the peak of the week. That means that you can pack down and head back home on Sunday and be ready for whatever you’re doing the following week,” organisers said in a press release.

The excision of music from Sunday at the festival also means that the festival will no longer be offering free admission to senior citizens (65+) on Sundays.

“Leaving out the final Sunday is also a goodbye to the free Sunday entrance for +65-year-olds. We still welcome everybody regardless of age to the festival, but everyone has to pay the entrance fee,” the festival wrote.

Roskilde in 2014 posted attendance of more than 130,000 over the week of June 29th to July 6th, with a lineup that featured The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, Damon Albarn, Drake (cancelled), Major Lazer, Outkast, Stevie Wonder, and Trentemøller among others. – Staff Writers
