Scott Stapp Cancels Tour

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Singer Scott Stapp has canceled his current tour of North America, citing unspecified health issues.

The former Creed frontman was set to hit the road with his "Proof of Live" tour in November for a spin around the Western U.S. Stapp was touring in support of his 2013 album "Proof of Life."

While Stapp or his reps did not elaborate on the nature of the illness that derailed his planned tour, the singer has battled with drug and alcohol addiction in the past. He also openly discussed a suicide attempt, where jumped from the balcony of a Miami hotel, landing on a ledge, fracturing his skill and breaking a hip. According to Stapp, rapper T.I. found him after the jump and Stapp credits T.I. with saving his life.

"He walked in, and I found out later it was the only room left in the hotel and he came in off the street and came out, and as I'm laying on the ledge, blood fell to [T.I.'s] feet and he looked up and he had an Alabama hat on," Stapp said during an appearance on VHI's Big Morning Buzz. "I said, 'roll tide,' and then he looked at me and put two and two together and really saved my life." – Staff Writers
