SFX Family Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have formed an alliance to take the Hanna-Barbera comic characters "Scooby-Doo" on the road for the first time.
"Scooby-Doo Live 2001-2002," created, produced and promoted by SFX, is slated to launch this October in Louisville, Ky., making stops in approximately 26 cities, including Radio City Music Hall. The live stage show will tour prior to Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming live-action feature film, "Scooby-Doo," coming to theaters next summer.
"This is the first time the 'Scooby-Doo' characters will be featured in a live stage show and it is a thrilling opportunity for audiences to see these classic characters come to life," said Dan Romanelli, president, Warner Bros. Worldwide Consumer Products.
The production's creative team includes Jim Millan, writer/director; Robert Bissinger, set designer; Gregg Barnes, costume designer; Peter Hylenski, sound design; Paul D. Miller, lighting designer; and "Kids in the Hall" member Mark McKinney, script consultant.
