(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The $100 ticket barrier on Broadway has been broken.
“Monty Python’s Spamalot,” “Wicked” and “Mamma Mia!” have all put $110 orchestra seat tickets on sale for the holiday season.
These three incredibly popular musicals have routinely sold out, and predict a storm of ticketbuyers during the holiday rush. Some plays are even following suit, with tickets to “Doubt,” this year’s Tony-winning best play, reaching $96.25, according to the New York Times.
At the moment, other popular Broadway musicals, like “The Lion King” and “Avenue Q,” are holding steady at just below $100 for regular orchestra seats, but will be jacking up the prices for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
