Tony Bennett To Receive ASCAP Pied Piper Award

Tony Bennett will receive the prestigious Pied Piper Award from The American
Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). The presentation will
take place May 20 at ASCAP's 19th annual Pop Music Awards at the Beverly
Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. Bennett will be recognized for his consummate
musical artistry and extraordinary career as the foremost interpreter of the "Great
American Songbook.''

"ASCAP is truly proud to honor Tony Bennett with the Pied Piper Award,'' said
Marilyn Bergman, ASCAP president and chairman of the board. "He has touched
audiences for over five decades during his remarkable career.
Tony is a true musical treasure and one of the best friends a song ever had.''

Previous award recipients include Fred Astaire,
Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Bob
Hope, Lena Horne, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand.

As previously announced, ASCAP will also be honoring legendary songwriter James
Taylor that evening with the ASCAP Founder's Award.
