Cincinnati Developer Back In Jail After 2 Days Of Freedom

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — LaShawn Pettus-Brown, the man accused of defrauding the city of Cincinnati with a failed plan to renovate a city theater, was charged Friday on new theft charges. He had been released from a year-long jail stay only 2 days earlier, after a judge overturned charges against Pettus-Brown because prosecutors failed to prove that he violated federal laws against wire-fraud and money laundering.

He is being held at $2 million bail, accused of spending more than $180,000 in taxpayer money. He was supposed to use the funds to renovate a theater in the Over-the-Rhine suburb of the city, but he instead disappeared with the money. He was later located in Long Island, New York. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
