DENVER, CO (CelebrityAccess) — Levitt Pavilion Denver, a brand-new amphitheater located in Ruby Hill Park, debuted on Thursday with the first installment of its free concert series, followed by its first general admission show on Friday night.

The free event included a ribbon cutting, led by Liz Levitt, president of Levitt Foundation, City Councilman Jolon Clark, Deputy Mayor Happy Haynes and executive director of the Pavilion, Chris Zacher. Live music, food, and drinks capped the evening’s festivities with live music provided by Andy Thomas’ Dust Heart, Halden Wofford & the Hi*Beams and Slim Cessna’s Auto Club.

Friday night followed with the first ticketed concert featuring UB40 Legends Ali, Astro & Mickey with special guests Matisyahu and Raging Fyah.

The 7,500-capacity venue will host about 20-30 admission-based events, and approximately 50 free concerts a year. Emporium Live’s Dan Steinberg and David Zink will handle booking for the paid admission shows and provide consulting services for the amphitheater’s free concerts, the company said.

“It’s amazing to see how quickly the community of Denver has embraced its newest jewel, the Levitt Pavilion Denver,” said Dan Steinberg, co-owner of Emporium Presents. “We hit the ground running with UB40, and based on ticket sales Josh Abbott Band, 311, Cody Johnson, and the Levitt Pavilion Beer Festival will all be a smashing success. It’s thrilling to be involved.”
