LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Following the arrest of 29-year-old Eric Holder, the man suspected of fatally shooting rapper Nipsey Hussle out front of his clothing store in South Los Angeles over the weekend, LAPD has shifted their focus from the streets to the courtroom.

Holder, who was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the city of Bellflower, which is 20 miles away from the location where Hussle was shot, is likely to be charged and to make his first appearance in front of a judge in the next two days, according to the Associated Press.

In a press conference held by the LAPD early Tuesday, police Chief Michel Moore explained that Hussle and Holder were known to each other and that the two men had been seen arguing earlier in the day Sunday (March 31) prior to when the shooting took place.

While Moore did not reveal how the two men were acquainted or offer any details about their dispute, he emphasized it was a personal matter between Hussle and Holder, and not connected to any sort of gang rivalry as some media outlets had previously speculated.

Two other men who were shot Sunday survived. A woman who is believed to have driven the getaway vehicle has reportedly since turned herself in.

The police chief and the president of the city’s Police Commission, Steve Soboroff, had been scheduled to meet with Hussle on Monday to discuss the relationship between the police force and the inner city, reports AP.

At Tuesday’s news conference an emotional Soboroff read from the email Hussle sent asking for the meeting.

“Our goal is to work with the department to help improve communication, relationships and work towards changing the culture and dialogue between LAPD and your city,” Hussle said in the email.

33-year-old Hussle (real name Ermias Asghedom) had hopes of remaking the Crenshaw neighborhood where he grew up and helping to break the city’s cycle of gang violence.
