PHILADELPHIA (CelebrityAccess) — City Winery opened its newest location in Philadelphia over the weekend with opening weekend performances by country music legend Emmylou Harris, and Josh Ritter.
The 300-capacity venue, located in Philly’s Fashion District Philadelphia mall, features a restaurant, bar and a performance space with a jazzy “supper club” vibe, according to a review in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“You can have just as much fun sitting down as standing up,” Emmylou Harris told the audience during her set at City Winery. And besides, she added, “who likes looking at all those butts?”
Upcoming performances at the new outlet include Justin Town Earles on Sept. 30, Greg Laswell on Oct. 2nd., Mason Jennings on Oct. 3rd, Eric Roberson’s Music Fan First on Oct. 4, and Behind The Lens Ft. Mick Rock And Henry Diltz on Oct. 8.
“We are so proud to open our seventh location in a city that has such a rich history and passion for both music and cultural experiences as well as a dynamic food scene. We are bringing to Philadelphia a venue unlike any other in the city,” City Winery’s Michael Dorf said announcing the new venue last year.
The latest City Winery joins other, existing venues in the chain that operates in New York, Boston, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, and Washington D.C.
