LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Rapper Tory Lanez is facing criminal charges after he was alleged to have shot fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in a late-night incident in the Hollywood Hills in July.

According to the Los Angeles County Prosecutors’ Office, Lanez, which is the performing name of Daystar Peterson, is facing one count each of assault with semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

He also faces an allegation that he used a firearm to inflict bodily harm.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on October 13. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison.

The charges stem from a July 12th incident where Lanez, Megan Pete (AKA Megan Thee Stallion) and a third person, had attended a party in the Hollywood Hills but left after a dispute. Pete reportedly left the vehicle at which point Lanez was alleged to have discharged his weapon several times, striking Pete in the foot.

Police responded to the incident but no one on the scene at the time was willing to provide information. Pete was treated at an area hospital where she says she underwent surgery.

However, in late August, Pete named Lanez as the alleged shooter on social media, suggesting she was unwilling to remain silent with her side of the story any more.
